We’ve established these House Rules to keep the messageboards a healthy environment for discussion so that everyone can get the most out of commenting on this website.
If your post has been removed or your account has been restricted and you do not agree that you have broken these rules, the best way to let us know is to send us a message on the site’s Facebook page.
We reserve the right to delete comments which:
Personal insults or threats directed at fellow participants or other people (such as politicians) are not allowed. Of course you’re allowed to disagree with others (including the Prime Minister) but please do so in a respectful and thoughtful manner. In addition, racist, sexist, homophobic, disablist, sexually explicit, abusive or otherwise objectionable material will be removed.
Spamming or flooding is not allowed. Spamming means submitting the same or very similar comment many times across the site. Flooding means re-submitting your contribution to the same messageboard thread multiple times.
Contain unsuitable links
When posting links, please make sure they’re relevant to the discussion you’re engaged in and that they do not redirect viewers to unsuitable content.
Are not in English or in French
We have to make sure comments can be checked and want all readers to understand the comment. If you want to post something in French, please head over to the French section of the website.
Comments can be flagged by clicking on the little flag icon in the upper-right corner of each comment. Please only flag comments that obviously break these rules and we’ll do our best to keep the messageboards a welcoming place where everyone can have meaningful discussions and debates about Canada.
